Mission

Greenwood Park Youth Ministry exists to help teens become disciples of Christ by elevating God in worship, embracing a shared life with other believers, and engaging the broken world through service.

Weekly Events

  • Wednesday Night Class: We all meet as one big group and begin with a time of worship. After our Youth Minister teaches, we split up into discussion groups. Our goal for Wednesday nights is for students to be encouraged and leave refreshed to finish out their week!
  • Core Groups: These are small groups that meet monthly in the homes of our students. We gather for a meal, worship, and have breakout discussions.

Big Events

Retreats

Five weekends a year, we have an opportunity to get away from it all. It is a moment to slow down and unplug. It’s a weekend full of worship, spiritual growth, and activities! Below are some of the retreats we are able to attend yearly.

7-12th grades: Reflect (MLK Jr Weekend), Celebration (first weekend in November), & Spring Retreat (April)

High School Only: Campout (third weekend in October)

Middle School Only: Overflow (last weekend in September)

Mission Trips

Each summer we go to a different location to serve God’s people in a unique community. We pray and fundraise for this event all spring!

Impact

Impact is a camp designed for High School students at Lipscomb University. Our students will join up with 1000+ other students from across the country to take over this campus for a weekend of worship, drama, classes, and group time. Students live on Lipscomb’s campus in dorm rooms together, and our summer interns are their counselors in the dorm. On a regular day at IMPACT, students go to classes and attend big sessions in an arena where they witness games, entertainment, worship, teaching, and more!

Camp

Camp is a blessing to the entire GP body. It is almost impossible not to learn something powerful about God’s heart for the community at Greenwood Park Church Camp. Students can literally feel the love of God as they are walking among the fields or at the creek.

Other Events

White Water Rafting Trip: We celebrate the end of a great summer by going to the Ocoee!

NYE Lock-IN: Students spend around 12 hours participating in various activities to end their year! Most activities take place at the church building, but occasionally we visit other places for activities like roller skating, group games, and movies.

YAH Banquet: Our Young at Heart ministry is a 60s+ plus group that we serve with a banquet annually! Members of our youth group dress up and serve our YAHs a three course meal with entertainment provided.
